HCL Acid Fume Scrubber

VENT STACK

For acid storage tanks that are loaded pneumatically with:

Stack Vent for acid tanks when loaded by acid trucks pneumatically.

Size 24" diameter and 8' high.
To serve a 4000 gallon/half hour blow-in rate at 10 psi max. of truck blower.
The tank is vented through a minimum 3" vent pipe to the bottom of the scrubber stack.
The HCL fumes are dispersed throughout the 1" tower packing. The tower packing pall rings are coated with a graphite/inorganic salt to enhance HCL droplets.
In the upper part of the stack is a 6" thick demister to capture fugitive HCL droplets and additional HCL absorption.
To prevent droplets of HCl solution escaping while blowing takes place, a 45 degree scraper ring is at the top.
At the assembly sprinkling of a solution of calcium chloride or ferrous chloride will make the unit from the start, 1st blow, 95% effectively reducing the volume of HCL emission.
